Montgomery County Public Schools makes changes to next year’s calendar
Montgomery County Public Schools has recently released a proposed calendar, developed by the board of education, for the 2018-2019 school year. The school year will begin on Tuesday, September 1st and end on Thursday, June 13th. The new calendar will allow for 182 days of educational instruction at the expense of a shortened two day long spring break. Many parents and teachers oppose this calendar due to the fact that there is less instructional time. They believe that their students will struggle academically, and that this should not be at expense of a boost in tourism for the Maryland state economy. For a full list of closures, click here.
