Spring Sports Season Kicks Off at Springbrook
The spring sports season is here! Springbrook High School is offering sports such as baseball, softball, tennis, track, and lacrosse this season. Practices have already begun for most teams, and the first matches are next week.
On Friday, February 20, the JV boys lacrosse team will have a home game against Northwood. The boys volleyball team will have a home game against Damascus, while the girls volleyball team will play an away game at Damascus. Both the boys and co-ed volleyball teams will also have home matches against Blair.
On Saturday, February 21, the boys baseball team will play against Rockville, the JV girls lacrosse team will face Northwood, and the softball team will play against Poolesville.
I also interviewed Dylan Palma, a member of our varsity baseball team, and asked him a few questions about the upcoming season.
Q: What are you looking forward to this season?
A: “What I am looking forward to this season is the development of our team as players and teammates. We have grown a lot over the years, and we have worked hard to build the program back up. I hope to see all of the progress we have made pay off.”
Q: What players do you think students should pay attention to this season?
A: “I think students should pay attention to the upperclassmen because we have improved a lot since freshman year. There are also some freshmen to watch because they have the potential to be great.”
Q: Which teams do you think will be strong competition this season?
A: “The teams I think will be good competition this season are definitely Kennedy, Seneca Valley, Wheaton, Albert Einstein, and Paint Branch.”
Be sure to come out and support our Blue Devils this spring season!
