Springbrook High School’s Academy of Information Technology students showcased their skills and determination at the 2026 MCPS Cyber Forensics Competition, earning a spot on the podium in a highly competitive field.
With eight teams representing Springbrook, students competed against 98 teams from across Montgomery County Public Schools. After weeks of preparation and a full day of intense problem solving, one Springbrook team stood out with an impressive third place finish in the Intro Category.
The team included Chidera Odidika, a junior, Ishatta King, a junior, and Halal Gebrewolde, a sophomore. Together, they demonstrated strong collaboration and critical thinking as they applied their classroom knowledge to real world cyber forensics challenges.
The competition tested students’ ability to analyze digital evidence, solve complex problems, and think like investigators. Their success reflects both their technical skills and their commitment to excellence.
Final results were announced on March 17 during the MC MCPS In Person Cyber Forensics Challenge held at Montgomery College.
This achievement highlights the strength of Springbrook’s AOIT program and the dedication of its students. As technology continues to play a major role in today’s world, opportunities like this prepare students for future careers in cybersecurity and beyond.
