Students explore Venice, Florence, and Rome while experiencing culture, history, and unforgettable moments
Every spring break, Springbrook students have the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world, and this year’s trip to Italy was one to remember.
The trip started in Venice, where students got to experience the city in a unique way by riding in gondolas through the canals. For many, it was their first time seeing a city built on water, which made the experience even more exciting.
Next, the group traveled to Murano, where they watched a live glass making demonstration. Students were able to see how skilled artists turn hot glass into detailed pieces right in front of them. It was both interesting and impressive to watch.
In Florence, students learned about another form of Italian craftsmanship during a visit to a leather making school. They saw how leather goods are made and gained a better understanding of the work and detail that goes into each piece.
The final stop was Rome, where students explored some of the most famous landmarks in the world. Seeing the Colosseum in person was a highlight of the trip, as students were able to connect what they have learned in school to real life. The group also visited the Trevi Fountain, where many students took pictures and enjoyed the atmosphere of the city.
The trip was not just about sightseeing. It was also a chance for students to bond, try new things, and step outside of their comfort zones.
Students who attended the trip included Eileen Moran, Brian Williams, Amarje Jones, Joshua Rowe, and Elijah Mercedes, along with teacher Maria Peterson.
Overall, the Italy trip was an unforgettable experience that gave students the chance to learn, explore, and create lasting memories.
