Black History Month, also known as African American History Month, is a time for Black Americans to celebrate and recognize their roles in American history. In 1976, Carter G. Woodson established this month to extend the acknowledgment of African American history. Many people across the U.S. celebrate Black History by learning about significant black figures, supporting black-owned businesses, and attending celebrations, among other activities.
At Springbrook High School, the Black Student Union held its annual Black History Month Assembly to showcase and celebrate Black culture. Take a look at the special moments from the assembly!
