2023-2024 Annual College Fair

2023-2024+Annual+College+Fair

Our very own College Career Information Coordinator, Tammy Patterson, worked tirelessly to plan and evacuate the Annual College Fair for Springbrook.   Since there were over 100 colleges visiting our school, Ms. Patterson invited Blair and Paint Branch.  Needless to say, the fair was a huge success.  College Fairs are important because they offer a unique opportunity for students to explore a variety of colleges, universities, and other career paths such as the military, federal government, and much more.

What should students do at a College Fair?  We compiled a list for you:

  1. Gather Information: Speaking directly to college representatives and admissions officers allow students can learn firsthand information about admission requirements, campus life, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities, which can help them make more informed decisions about their future educational paths.
  2. Networking: Students can establish connections with college representatives, which can be beneficial when it comes to the application process. Building a relationship with admissions officers can sometimes positively influence the application review process.
  3. Ask Questions: Students can take advantage of the opportunity to ask specific questions about majors, campus facilities, student life, and any other concerns they may have. This interaction can provide valuable insights that might not be easily accessible through online research alone.
  4. Discover New Opportunities: College fairs often showcase a variety of educational opportunities, including information on technical schools, community colleges, and specialized programs that may cater to specific career interests Students are able to explore alternative paths beyond traditional four-year colleges.
  5. Understand Requirements: Students can gain a better understanding of the application process, including requirements for standardized tests, recommendation letters, and personal statements, helping them prepare more effectively for the application process in their senior year.
  6. Is this college for me?: Talking to multiple college representatives gives students the chance to see which schools fit best with their own preferences, academic interests, and personal goals.  This process allows you to make a more informed decision about college.
