Springbrook High School students worked with one of the state delegates for our area, Delegate Lorig Charkoudian D-20, for an engaging community event called Power in the Park. It was held Saturday morning, October 21. There were games, face painting, food, and prizes. It was an empowering moment for the community to learn about energy resources available through state and local agencies. Springbrook students coordinated all of the kids games, facepainting and food distribution. It was a great day! We will work more with our elected officials to share our community needs and services with everyone!
Springbrook students are committed to giving back to their community. Class of 2026, Raya Ebanks and Jack Bentley, share why they volunteered to give up their Saturday morning to help.
Raya Ebanks: “I wanted to help out in the community, while making the area a better place with power in the park.”
Jack Bentley: “I heard about power in the park from Ms. Laskin at Springbrook and when I heard there was an opportunity to help the community learn about making their energy use more efficient, I decided to volunteer!”
