The wrestling team is off to a promising start led by new head coach Robert Whittles. With many new faces on the roster and a coaching change, the boys are slowly making their way back on top. The team has taken home wins in out-of-county tournaments against teams from Aberdeen and Westminster. Recently, the Devils earned a crushing victory against the Watkins Mill Wolverines on Jan. 7.

   “A majority of our wins [against Watkins Mill High School] were pins.Our lightweights are doing rather swell. We finished at 5-4, which was pretty cool because it was stacked with super hard competition and a bunch of state placers. Things are going in the right direction,” junior Adib Afnan said.

    Springbrook will host the annual interstate tournament “The Grapple” on Jan. 17.
