Christian Balmoris, a passionate and determined senior state finalist wrestler has had high personal improvement goals throughout the wrestling season.

“My personal goals have been to get better and prove to everyone that you can do anything if you work hard for it,” Balmoris said.

Through the years of wrestling at Springbrook High School, Balmoris has accomplished many achievements that outstand the Springbrook community. His dedication and hard work have impacted many other wrestlers on the team.

He tried out and made varsity his sophomore year of wrestling and went to state finals his second year of wrestling. Balmoris is now a senior captain and ranks among the best wrestlers in the state.

“Christian has been supportive and a motivator for us as a team. Through his achievements, I look up to them and it motivated me to achieving them as well,” junior Minh-Tri Nguyen said.

Describing the sport, wrestlers have to cut weight and stabilize their weight to be in their specific weight class and compete.

Balmoris explained that wrestlers have to eat small portions of food high in proteins like eggs, turkey, chicken breast, etc.

Despite feeling frustration with his diet, it’s one of his least concerns. Christian has many other important concerns about impacting the sport itself to worry about.

“My biggest concerns are getting injured, wrestling good teams, and preparing for counties and states. Other than that, if I work to my potential I believe I can achieve where I want to be”, Balmoris said.

Christian continues to gain more goals over the years of the wrestling. His personal goals for his senior year consist of making it to States and having a positive (more wins than loses) record. He also wants to spread his dedication and motivation to the Springbrook community.

“Everyone can achieve anything if they work towards their potential”, Balmoris said.

In the years of high school wrestling, through dedication and courage, Balmoris is still gaining his personal goals and continues to improve his work ethic to improve the wrestling team at Springbrook.
