Letter to the Editor: quality of school lunch

Dear Springbrook Editor,

I’m a freshman that started attending Springbrook and I’m here to talk to you about how we need better tasting food. I only ever eat food from school if I forgot to pack my lunch. If that’s the only condition in which you’d eat school lunches then you already know something is up.

The food here is dry, nasty, and tasteless. You and I both know that McD’s dollar menu is better than our school lunches. Like, honestly. Have you seen the food?? Have you ever tasted it?? I can guarantee that students who eat school food don’t enjoy it.  Wouldn’t you want something that’s actually good for your body and doesn’t leave you feeling heavy or greasy? We are promised good and healthy foods, yet what we got is something of a completely different caliber. The food is unhealthy, usually greasy. The only thing that’s good about the lunch is the fruit, and even then they’re usually bruised or brown.

Think about it, if we had good lunches, more people would be eating in the cafeteria and not in the classrooms during school hours. It keeps the classrooms cleaner. Maybe people would actually eat the breakfast and not die mid-way to fourth period. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. People in class wouldn’t focus so much about how hungry they are in class and maybe they’d actually focus on what’s on the board. More kids would actually buy the lunch at school thus also making the school a little more extra money. If the school invested in better food, for lunch or for breakfast, they’d be helping themselves as well as their students.

Sincerely,

Sad school lunch
