Abel Tesfaye has really swept the shelves this black friday.

The Weeknd’s new album Starboy is a mix of melodic pop beats and darkness but still true to Tesfaye’s dark side that we have seen in Trilogy.

While listening to Starboy, we experience a perfect balance of pop and dark beats.

We see these pop beats in “I Feel It Coming.” You get an 80’s vibe from the pop beats and the faded background music in the beginning. “I Feel It Coming” tells the story about him and his long time girlfriend Bella Hadid.He explains his experience and how he wants to rekindle this relationship with another women.

“True Colors” starts off slow and shows the dark side of Tesfaye. He wants to hear about a girl’s past and her “True Colors” and what she has been up to in the past. This song also implies that he wants to know her real intentions and that he doesn’t believe that she is being realistic about who she says she is.

“False Alarm” is the best song on the album.It tells the story about a Stargirl. A woman who is driven by seduction and materialistic items.Abel says this woman is “wrapped in gold” meaning she is only looking for money.

If you have not yet, Starboy is definitely a album you would want to listen to.

It is very different from The Weeknd’s past work of art, but it will make you love him more.
