As we start the school year, we welcome new students and teachers. This year, Springbrook welcomed a new AP Biology and Marine science teacher Ms.Goldgisser. As well as her slithering and crawly creatures.

Ms. Goldgisser’s snake was a gift from her friend and the tarantula was a flea market find.

Prior to teaching at Springbrook, Goldgisser taught in Orlando, Florida. So far she has loved Springbrook and the community.

“The students here are more motivated to learn and show respect towards each other and the teacher’s,” Goldgisser said.

Ms.Goldgisser has been teaching for 3 years as a science teacher.

“Science has real practical use. It can be hands on, and each topic has real application that relate to everyone’s lives,” Goldgisser said.

When taking a science class a lot of experiments and lessons are hands on and interactive.

Soon, the AP biology and marine biology science classes will begin some cool experiments.

“The AP Biology students will be studying natural selection by hatching brine shrimp eggs. Marine Biology will be dissecting different organisms to compare their anatomy and physiology,” the science teacher said.

In addition to being the new science teacher, Ms. Goldgisser also coaches the girls junior varsity volleyball team.
