The 68 teams set to participate in March Madness were released last Sunday on CBS and www.ncaa.com. Every year, unknown teams come out of nowhere to pull off huge upsets and make deep runs in the tournament, while top seeded teams showcase their talent en route to making a deep run as well. Here are some teams to watch as the tourney is set to finally begin:

Kansas Jayhawks (30-4)

The Jayhawks waltzed to their 11th straight Big 12 title with an 81-71 win over #9 West Virginia. Not only is Kansas ranked as the #1 team in the nation, according to the coaches poll, they boast one of the best players in the nation in senior Perry Ellis. The 6’ 8” PF averages 16.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, and 1.4 apg. Despite boasting one of the top players in college basketball, the Jayhawks have an offense that has four players average double figures, which means they don’t always have to rely on Ellis to be the primary scorer.

Oregon Ducks (28-6)

The Ducks are one of the more underrated teams despite their impressive record. Oregon, led by sophomore SF Dillon Brooks, has earned very impressive wins en route to clinching the first #1 seed in school history. Brooks averages 16.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.1 apg, and 1.2 spg alongside three of his teammates average double figures as well. The Ducks have impressive wins over Baylor, USC, Arizona, and Utah, which was an 88-57 manhandling in the PAC-12 tournament.

Maryland Terrapins (25-8)

The Terps are one of a few teams favored to make it to the Final Four because of their star-studded roster which features many NBA draft prospects. The team is led by sophomore G Melo Trimble who averages 14.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, and 5.1 apg and a starting lineup of players that all average double figures. The Terps have strong wins over Georgetown, Iowa, and Purdue but have tough losses to #1 seeded UNC, MSU, and #5 seeded Indiana.

Syracuse Orange (19-13)

Syracuse had a very tough year under HC Jim Boeheim as they finished 9th in the ACC. Despite a shaky year, the Orange had strong years from senior G Michael Gbinije and freshman G Malachi Richardson who averaged 17.8 ppg and 13.2 ppg respectively. The team had strong wins over Connecticut, Texas A&M, Duke,and Notre Dame but suffered tough losses to Miami, UNC, Virginia, Louisville, and Pittsburgh.
