J.Cole’s new album has massive anticipation
It takes a lot of courage to release an album without any singles.
This is the challenge that North Carolina native rapper J.Cole has taken on.
“2014 Forest Hills Drive” will be his third studio album and his most anticipated album yet.
J.Cole has been in the rap game ever since he released his two critically acclaimed mixtapes in 2009 “The Come Up” and “The Warm Up”. The following year he released “Friday Night Lights” which created a lot of buzz and led him to being signed by rap legend Jay-Z to Roc Nation.
What really drove J.Cole’s new upcoming album is the fact that he moved back to his childhood home. He felt lost in the Hollywood world and wanted to get back to his roots and really focus on his passion for rap.
He has been going around to different states reaching out to people from all ages. He has gone to a lucky fan’s home to play her his album. He surprised students at Morehouse College and spoke to them about his career and life. He has even held a contest where the winners get to go to his house and listen to his album before its release.
Rather than promoting his album, he is speaking out to his fans and connecting with them. It shows how humble and genuine of a person that J.Cole is. It is refreshing because these days all we see is rappers boasting about their expensive jewelry and foreign cars.
J.Cole is a true gem in rappers of this generation. “2014 Forest Hills Drive” will surely take us on a journey through J.Cole’s shoes for it has no features. Just his lyrics.
People are already saying that it could be the best rap album of 2014. We will have to wait and see until the album drops tomorrow.
