Believe in the ball

How would you feel if you had to play two of the toughest teams in the same week? The Girls varsity volleyball team played both Richard Montgomery, On September 30th, and Sherwood, on October 2nd, two teams that are top five in the county last week. Although the players knew that they were up against two of the toughest girls teams in the county,they had they utmost confidence in themselves that they would succeed.

“We’ve been working hard and I’m hoping it shows on the court. We put in a lot of hours, and I have confidence in my team,” said senior and captain Julie Dang.

Although they were about to face high caliber team, such as Richard Montgomery and Sherwood, they remained confident, and even after their loss to RM 25-11 in the last set their coach said, “Although we lost, I am proud of all of the effort put forward by my girls,” said coach Amobi.

It was a hard fought battle, but ultimately they lost to RM three sets to zero. However in the Sherwood game, the girls performed better than they ever had before and came out with smiles on their faces even though they lost, but even though the girls volleyball team lost both games three sets to zero, but they remained confident and proud with their heads held high because they gave both games their all.

“Im so proud of my girls because even though they knew they were up against a tough team they gave it their all, i couldn’t be happier” said Coach Amobi.

With a positive outlook on the recent games the team choose to use it as motivation and to remain confident as a team. “Although the records say we lost, im proud of the girls so we won in my eyes,” said Shalini Gardner.
