Junior Poms was such a cool way to bring the next generation of Blue Devils into our community. All week, elementary and middle school students c ame after school to practice with our varsity poms team. They learned basic moves, counts, and formations, and the team captains helped them clean the routine and feel confident. By Friday, they were ready to perform at halftime.
Watching the little Blue Devils take the floor was the best part of the night. The crowd went wild, parents were taking videos, and the juniors were all smiles. You could tell they worked hard and were proud to be out there with the team. A few of them even said they want to try out for poms when they get to high school.
For the varsity team, it was more than just teaching a routine. It was about being role models and showing what teamwork looks like. Helping the younger dancers find the beat, fix their arms, and hit their final pose made everyone feel like one big program instead of separate age groups.
Coach Sojdehei said they are excited to keep Junior Poms going every year because it builds school spirit and gives younger students a positive first experience with Springbrook. Opening the clinic to the whole community also helps families feel welcome at our games.
If you missed it this time, watch for the next Junior Poms clinic. Whether you are new to dance or already taking classes, it is a fun way to learn skills, make friends, and feel the energy of performing at halftime. Go Blue Devils!
