Fever gone to Bieber’s head?
It’s no surprise that worldwide pop sensation Justin Bieber’s actions finally caught up with him. The 19-year-old has constantly been in the tabloids for his reckless behavior in the past few months. From abandoning a baby monkey, to allegedly egging his neighbor’s house, Bieber has not been holding back the mischief. This exact behavior has resulted in his recent arrest for drag racing and driving under the influence.
A petition to deport Bieber from the United States has successfully reached the White House and a decision must be made on whether or not the out of control teen should be deported. Even if the petition works and Bieber is sent back to Canada, the problem still will not go away. The paparazzi will still follow him and monitor everything he does in Canada or wherever else he decides to wreak havoc. He is a gossip gold mine and anything he does is seen by the world within a matter of hours.
“Out of all the celebrities I know about, Justin Bieber is the one I know too much about,” junior Cindy Do stated.
For years now, it has almost become a cultural norm to despise Bieber for every little thing he does. So when something as serious as a life threatening and illegal activity is the issue, the public without a doubt had an equally compelling reaction.
“I’ve known him for so long now it’s like I kind of grew with him. It’s so weird knowing that he’s doing all these illegal things,” Do said.
The reason for the petition is that many think he is a clear threat to the safety of Americans and a bad role model for children. Although it is a valid reason, the only reason the petition has become so popular is because of Bieber’s celebrity status.
There are countless incidents of people, or in this case immigrants, drag racing and driving under the influence, but where are the petitions for these people? They are just as much of a safety risk as Bieber is but there is no attention given to them.
Now, I’m not approving what Bieber did and I am certainly not excusing his foolish decisions. I do, however, think everyone has gone overboard with this whole petition situation. The White House has more important things to worry about than a child star gone bad.
Bieber has since turned himself into the Canadian police for assaulting his former bodyguard and they have reached a mutual satisfaction.
Whatever it is that the White House decides, one thing is for sure, the pop star needs to get some help fast. Whether it be incarceration, rehabilitation or just a vacation away from the spotlight, Bieber needs to get his act together.
