Last Thursday, the US Men’s Soccer Team scraped a win against Ecuador, advancing to the Copa America semi-final round in Houston, Texas. This young roster has taken our country further into the tournament than ever before.

Will the success of our men persist against Argentina in the semi-final round? Can we, the team ranked 31st in the world, beat the world’s best team? – U.S. National Team Coach, Jurgen Klinsmann believes we can. He claims that his team doesn’t fear Argentina.

Though the U.S. is nowhere near being the expected winner of the match, according to ESPN’s Doug McIntyre, team captain Michael Bradley said that a win against Argentina would not be “mission impossible.”

Adding on to the challenge of beating this superpower team, the US will have to beat the Argentine team without three of their key players: Jermaine Jones, Bobby Wood, and Alejandro Bedoya. Jones was suspended because of a red card he faced against Ecuador, and Wood and Bedoya were suspended as well, due to their second yellow card in the span of two games.

Despite these losses, Klinsmann and Bradley hold on to their faith in the U.S. men. If their optimism turns into reality, then Tuesday’s game will be the first time the U.S. wins in the semifinals, in the tournament’s 100 year history.

What to watch out for:

#4 Michael Bradley (USA)
Michael Bradley is the team’s most experienced player. He is the heart and soul of this team. For team USA to have a chance, their captain is going to have to show his leadership abilities and play his best football.

#15 Kyle Beckerman (USA)
Kyle Beckerman is one of the key midfielders for the national team. He is known for having a very physical playing style.

#10: Lionel Messi (Argentina)

Messi. Of course. Multiple times crowned the best player in the world, he is sure to be a threat against the US with his speed, exceptional touch, and propensity for goal scoring.

#9: Gonzalo Higuain (Argentina)
Last, but definitely not least, is Argentina’s other dangerous forward. He was able to put the ball in the back of the net twice in Argentina’s thrashing of Venezuela

Tune in to Tuesday, June 21st at 9pm ET to support our men as they try to advance to the Copa America finals for the first time ever!

I… I believe… I believe that… I believe that we… I believe that we will win!
