Girls Swimming brings intensity to practice

What would you do if your sports team hasn’t won yet? The girls swim team is asking themselves that question as they prepare for their upcoming meet, bringing new energy to practice hoping to win against Watkins Mill.

Although the team has lost all three of their meets, the swimmers are staying optimistic for their meet on Jan. 11. They plan to stay focused, work hard, and continue to practice.

“We’re working hard and a lot of people are very committed to the team,” swimmer Kiev Gambrell said.

So far the team has lost to James Hubert Blake, Rockville and Damascus. However, hopes are high as the team prepares in practice to bring home their first win.

“I hope to beat someone, crush them, and make them cry,” sophomore Mary Emery said, the team’s manager and swimmer.
