Do you know Lomax?

With the beginning of a new football season Springbrook welcomed a new coach onto the field. Jason Lomax, a former coach from Rockville High School, has claimed victories against Blake, Northwood, and Wooton, showing the prowess of Lomax’s coaching and the team’s determination. With so much on the line this season, students need to get to know the newest member of Blue Devil family.

Blueprint: “What is your past experience with coaching?”

Coach Lomax: “I’ve coached in Rockville for my whole career. Last two years I

was the offensive coordinator there and we broke multiple state records on the offensive side of

the ball.”

Blueprint: “How have the players and other coaches reacted to your arrival and your coaching

methods?”

Coach Lomax: “They’ve been very supportive. Other coaches in the building have helped

me out in all that I needed. My coaches have been on board with me since day one. The players

have been excited. They’ve lifted in the off season and they’ve been behind me as well.

Blueprint: “What is your reaction to some of the players you’ve gotten to know?”

Coach Lomax: “I like them a lot. There are a lot of good kids… For whatever reason Springbrook does get a bad rep outside of the Springbrook community and it’s… not warranted… Since I’ve come in it’s ‘Yes sir,’ ‘No sir.’ They come to practice, and they’ve done everything I’ve asked of them, and they’re all a really good bunch of kids.”

Blueprint: “What kind of challenges have you been facing since you’re new to our school and

our team?”

Coach Lomax: “For the players’ sake, it’s just them switching system because they’re used

to running a power running system on offense, and I’m coming in here spreading them out,

making them go fast, throwing them around the yard. So it’s a little bit different for them, you

know, but every day they get a little bit better.”

Blueprint: “Do you have any unique goals for this season?”

Coach Lomax: “Playoffs. Every year, the goal is going to be the same, plain and simple.”
