Farewell, you will be missed

It is the last official day of school, which means it is that time of year again – the time where we say our final goodbyes to our seniors, classmates and staff members leaving Springbrook High School. Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to some of our favorite teachers as they move on.

 

Daniel Frank- Math

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

5 years at Springbrook.

What are your plans for next year?

I will be teaching math at another MCPS School.

What will you miss most about Springbrook?

We have some of the most devoted and talented staff members in the entire county. Our students are some of the nicest and most talented in the entire county. I will miss all of them!

 

Margaret Grasso – Administration

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

17 years.

What are your plans for next year?

I will be in Greenville SC by end of this summer and if all goes well a month in Tuscany this fall.  Other than that at this point is slow and easy…..I don’t want to make any decision harder than “what’s for dinner!”

What will you miss most about Springbrook?

The people.

 

Cyrus Ishikawa – Math

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

I’ve been at Springbrook for 31 years.
What are your plans for next year?

I’ll be teaching at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart.
What will you miss most about Springbrook?

I will miss the gleam in the eyes of my students the most.

 

 

Ronald Lane – Special Education

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

23 years.

What are your plans for next year?

Take care of my grandchildren.

What will you miss most about Springbrook?

The students. Also, the professionalism of the staff from building service to administration.

 

 

Christopher McGuthrie – Special Education

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

I actually graduated from Springbrook in 1992.  I have been here as a sub and a paraeducator for the last 3 years.  

What are your plans for next year?

Next year I will be working at Northwest High School and I will be the Varsity boys basketball coach at Watkins Mill.

What will you miss most about Springbrook?

I will miss all of the support that I have had from everyone over the years.  Many people in this building have gone out of their way to help me and I appreciate that.  It is rare.

 

 

Michael Miller – Special Education

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

I started teaching here in 1979.

What are your plans for next year?

Staying up later than 9 PM.

What will you miss most about Springbrook?

I’ll miss seeing the growth and maturation of the students during their four years here.

 

 

Caitlin Moriarty – Staff Development

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

This was my first year at Springbrook, and I am leaving because a job opportunity that is a promotion and close to home presented itself.

What are your plans for next year?

I will serve as the English resource teacher at Churchill High School.

What will you miss most about Springbrook?

I will miss the dedicated staff members with whom I had the opportunity to work, most especially Mrs. Moore and Mr. Frank.  There are far too many great teachers and teacher-leaders to mention here, but I found their commitment to students inspiring.

 

 

Jeanne Dodd – Special Education

How many years have you worked at Springbrook?

I have been at Springbrook for 2 years.

What are your plans for next year?

Next year I will be teaching at Woodlin Elementary school with students in the Learning for Independence (LFI) program.

What will you miss most about Springbrook?

I will miss my students, Krissie, Vina, Diana, Doosuur, and Brianna, who are in the School Community Based (SCB) program.

 

 

In addition, to those above, these beloved staff members will also not be joining us for the 2015-2016 school year.
